Salem College Soccer goes to Italy: Preview



The Salem College soccer team will travel to Italy on January 11-20, 2011. The team is going as part of Salem's January Term. The team will be stationed in Montecatini for six nights, and in Rome for three nights. They will play three Italian teams on the trip and will also visit Milan, Florence, Lucca, and Siena.
This will be the largest group that Salem College has ever sent on an abroad trip. Twenty members of the team will be participating in the trip, Head Coach Jay Callahan, two Salem staff members, and three family members. The team will stay in the Hotel Tuscany Inn in Montecatini, and in the Hotel San Pietro in Rome. Some of the places the team will visit include: the Lombardy Region, the Duomo, the Baptistery, Il Poggio, Palazzo Pubblico, the Colosseum, and Vatican City.
